A Word from William Russell
I came to Missouri Western State University in the Fall of 2005. I love the scholarly environment that has been cultivated here in the HPER Program. I find it very intellectually and interpersonally stimulating to work with faculty, staff, and students who are dedicated to their goals and ideals. I try to create a learning environment that consciously attempts to integrate critical thinking, application, and assessment to stimulate learning both in and outside of the classroom. I pride myself on a very active and engaging teaching style. I also strive to integrate service learning opportunities in my classes to bridge classroom content with practitioner settings. Our strength is our students – they are great! They bring a wealth and diversity of experiences and backgrounds that allows learning from each other all the time.
