"Romeo and Juliet"

ENG/THR 341 examines William Shakespeare's works and life as well as his impact on modern culture. Emphasis will be given to varied staging and theatrical interpretations of his plays, including live performance, film, and operatic adaptations.

Required Textbooks:

"The Riverside Shakespeare" Second Edition, by William Shakespeare. Published by Houghton Mifflin Company.

Other Requirements:

Students will also be required to attend at least one performance of "Romeo and Juliet" at the Heart of America Shakespeare Festival in Kansas City. To learn more about this festival, please click here.

There is a bus reserved for Friday, July 6 so that we can attend the festival as a class. The bus leaves at 5:00 p.m. from the parking lot adjacent to the library. If you cannot attend on that day, please contact Dr. Sawin so that alternative arrangements can be made.
