Principles of Biology is a general survey course for non-majors. It covers the major concepts in biology - taxonomy, biochemistry, cell, ecology, genetics, etc. - through lectures and structured lab activities. The lecture has from 80 to 120 students and each lab section has a maximum of 24 students. Any student earning a grade of "B" or higher in Bio 101 may use this course in place of Bio 111 (5 crs.) as the first course in the biology major.
