Astrophotography offers some difficult challenges, here are some of my efforts...

The moon during partial lunar eclipse on Saturday, 3 March 2007.  I had forgotten about the eclipse, then noticed the moon rising at sunset (meaning it should have been full) and it was only a crescent.  I scrambled to get my camera and scope together and had to rest the scope against the deck railing to get this shot.

Here's the Andromeda Galaxy, a 60 second exposure with a 90mm Orion Achromatic short tube, guided by the Meade DSI on an LX-90.  Note the clarity and chromatic aberration (images are best viewed on LCD (a typical CRT doesn't seem to have the dynamic range).  Andromeda is visible to the naked eye when the sky is very dark.
<-- chromatic aberration   Andromeda using 80 mm ED scope (25 Jan 06) (sharper, no chromatic aberration)

Orion Nebula (click on thumbnail)

Saturn & Jupiter using Meade LPI (click on pictures to see movies of them!)

   Basic Meade LX-90 setup

More moon pictures!  (Taken with Orion 90mm short tube, hopefully to be replaced with an Orion 80 mm Chinese EDO yielding much sharper images.  Major chromatic aberration corrected in photoshop.)

Some scuba and snorkeling pictures
