NOTEBOOK POINTS
The following is a point break-down of the 100 points given on your PED 317 notebook. Remember your book is due April 28th, 2008.
***Remember - This assignment has to reflect the realistic time constraints of your goals.
YOUR PERSONAL PROFILE - You must tell me what your goal is. This should be an attainable goal within 12 week from the due date of the notebook. Your personal information must include: Height, Weight, BMI, Waist-to-Hip Ratio, Resting Heart Rate, 1RM on Bench Press (can be predicted), 1RM on Squat (can be leg press) and your target heart rate for CV training or Fat burning.
OPTIONS CATEGORY -
Scenario Option - You may choose one of 8 scenarios. These scenarios will give you info similar to what's required in your personal exercise program.
Sports Option - In addition, the exercises, drills, sets and reps should be reflective of your sport or positions within that sport. ***
1. Cover Page - (5 Points) This should include the SPORT and the name of the individuals that worked on the project.
2. Prepatory Cycle - Take me through each of the three phases of this cycle (Hypertrophy, Strength and Strength/Power). Each of these stages must correlate to your goals. Each phase is worth 5 points. During each phase I'm looking for the types of exercises performed and the VOLUME (If you'll recall volume means sets & reps). Be very specific on the breakdown of the types of exercises chosen and the sets & reps). Please show pictures and include specific definitions.
3. First Transition - (5 points). This is a confusing cycle. It's basically what you'll have your athletes or yourself doing just prior (approximately 2 days) to their competition. Some coaches focus on carb-loading, others focus on cardiovascular conditioning while other focus on polishing skills and drills or even rest. What will your philosophy be?
3. Competition Phase - (5 points). This is when you should be achieving your personal goal. What activities will you have your athletes perform during season?
4. Exhaustive Terminology - (10 points)
5. Drills - (5 Points) Only if you do the SPORTS OPTION - This may include speed/agility drills, plyometric drills or skill acquisition drills. If you don't include these drills in the preparatory section you'll need to have a heading labeled "Drills". Feel free to use pictures or schematics from the internet, books...
6. Second Transition - ( 5 Points)This is your off-season. What activities will you perform? What are your new goals?
This is the same format for your personal program as well as the scenario's or chosen sport.
Good luck and let me know if you have additional questions.
