Archery Study Guide

*These are only suggestions.  You should definitely study the archery handout*

Remember on scoring you would start with the center being worth 10 points and each addition ring or color (going out from the center) would be worth 1 points less.  Ex.  10,9,8...

The Petticoat is worth zero points

A hanging arrow is worth the value of the color/line it's hanging from.

An arrow on a line is considered the higher value.

Know the following terms:

    BACKING

BOW WEIGHT -     Remember this is accurate when the bow is drawn 28".  It will increase or decrease by 2 pounds per inch.  Example - A person is using a 35 pound bow but has a 30" draw.  This bow is now considered a 39 pound bow.

Definitely study the pages labeled "ANALYSIS OF THE FUNDAMENTALS".  You'll see this as a multiple choice type question that is asking you to correct a shooting problem.

Good luck!   Your test is Friday, Oct. 21st.  You'll meet Dr. Wolford in room PE 215 on Monday, Oct. 24th..
